You ever get that feeling that no one's listening? I get that thought sometimes. I also get the feeling that you guys have a lot of opinions about a lot of stuff! Here's a place to shout it out loud and clear. This page is for you guys to say what you think, pretty much about anything. No adult opinions here, but I will edit content if needed. Rest assured that I won't change the content, other than to make it Christian appropriate (so forget about showing off your swearing here, or you'll get a beating with a stick, no wider than my thumb). I may make an occasional comment here and there, YG leader's privilege...;-) If you feel like responding, or you have something else you want to start, E-Mail me (click on the doggy mail box...lower left of page), and I'll post it. Got it? Write on, dudes!

Answer Me This...Here's an open question for you YG types..."What's a good way to deal with the stereotype of a Christian teen being labeled as a weirdo freak geek-type?" Anyone who has some advice for us weirdo "Jesus-freaks", e-mail a response to me by clicking the puppy-dog mail slot over on the left. Thanks, guys...Talk to you later! From Dave, the Humble Guide-Boy... I got something to say about this...It's so easy to stereotype anyone. We do it all the time, at work, school, or just walking through the mall. I think people respond to things they see. It's natural. I've been called all kinds of things by people who know nothing about me. I remember when I first got my ear pierced (this was back in the ancient history days, 1980). People always thought I was gay, just because of the earring. It sounds so cliche, but I used to get all kinds of crap from people, just because I had an earring. And I was married! I think as Christians, whether a teen or an adult, we are charged with leading by example. Jesus wants us to carry ourselves as He would. When someone judges us because we follow Jesus, let our actions speak, not our frustration of being judged when they don't even know us. Act out of love and kindness, not ignorance, even when we are confronted by ignorance. It ain't easy, is it? |
